Stories from the Archive

The Center for the Study of War and Society’s “Stories from the Archive” is a collection of biographies dedicated to preserving the history of Tennesseans and their experience with war from 1700 to the present.  This project uses archival material from our own collection or one of our many regional partners to recreate the these individuals’ stories. The biographies are researched and written by our undergraduate interns, who gain a unique hands-on understanding of working with history in the process. They are showcased here on our website to be accessed by the public and future researchers.
