Perspectives on America in World War I

This past week, Dr. Vejas Liulevicius and Dr. Ernest Freeberg of the Department of History at The University of Tennessee contributed to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Their columns examine two perspectives on the official entry of the United States into the First World War one hundred years ago. Dr. Liulevicius examines the global reaction to the entry of the United States in the conflict. Dr. Freeberg explores the war’s impact on free speech in the U.S. under President Wilson.
