Boyd W. Smith


Boyd Wayne Smith (Dec. 14, 1947 - May 5, 1970) was a graduate of Central High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. Wayne was killed in action in Vietnam with other soldiers when their truck exploded from hitting a mine north of Katum, SVN. (Katum is located approximately eight kilometers south of the Cambodian border in the South Vietnam province of Tay Ninh). PFC John Raymond Feeser, PFC Roger Emil Holler, PFC James Mason Keller, SP4 Jack David Leopard, and PFC Robert Ward Worthington were also killed that day. His name is on Panel 11W Line 106 of the Vietnam Veterans Wall Memorial.
