Please join us for a lecture by the Center Director, Prof. Vejas Gabriel Liulevicius as he presents a talk entitled, “No Quiet on the Eastern Front: German Occupation in Eastern Europe in World War I.” The lecture introduces a new exhibit on the First World War, entitled “World War I: A View from the Eastern Front”, which features photographs from German soldier Fritz Einstein. This event is a unique opportunity to view images from a less well known but important theater of the First World War. The photographs of Fritz Einstein have been provided by his son, Frank Einstein, who has worked to digitize these valuable historical artifacts.
Dr. Liulevicius’ lecture will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1:00PM in the Council Room of the Cookeville City Hall. An exhibit viewing will take place after the lecture.
This event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by: The Tennessee Tech Archives, The Tennessee Great War Commission, The Library of America, and the Cookeville History Museum.
